How billing works
Each project has a monthly subscription with usage credits shared across its resources. Usage beyond the included credits requires extra credits at $1 per credit.
Included usage
$15 on Hobby, $50 on Advanced, $200 on Professional. These credits are shared across the project's apps, workers, databases, storage and other billable usage. If usage stays within the included credits and you have no extra credits on your subscription, you pay only the base subscription fee.
Extra credits
If you need more than the included credits, purchase extra credits at $1 per credit. Purchased credits are added to your subscription and recur each billing period until you reduce or remove them. At the next renewal, you pay the base subscription fee plus the extra credits on your subscription.
Monthly reset
Included usage credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. Reducing or removing extra credits takes effect at the start of the next billing period.
Examples on the Hobby plan
- Resource usage of $5, with no extra credits on your subscription. Your monthly bill is $9, because usage is within the included $15.
- Resource usage of $20. Add $5 of extra credits to cover usage above the included $15. With those credits on your subscription, the next renewal is $14 ($9 base fee + $5 of extra credits).
- Usage falls back to $5. The renewal remains $14 until you reduce or remove the $5 of extra credits. Removing them takes effect at the start of the next billing period.
The same logic applies to the Advanced and Professional plans with their own included amounts. For your convenience, the credit balance in the control panel is displayed in dollars.
